Last Saturday I took photos of Pets with Santa for the Chilliwack SPCA. The event was held at Minter Country Gardens. From photographing about 120 pets the SPCA raised over $2000. I really enjoyed seeing all the different pets. There were mostly dogs but a few people were brave enough to bring in their cats, plus we even had a mouse and a bird! Some pets were scared, some pets were super excited, but I have to admit I really appreciated the calm pets, though of course all of them were fun to work with

Abbotsford Corporate Photography
Last week Madrone Environmental Services invited me to take their staff photographs. I brought out the portable photo studio to their Abbotsford office and we had a great time taking the staff photos for their new website.

Abbotsford Family Photography
A couple of weekends ago I photographed my friends Ben & Jen and their son Owen. Jen’s brother Dave and his girlfriend Tiegan also joined in for the photo session. Dave and Tiegan brought their two (very well trained) dogs along for the photos too! The clocks were turned back on the day of our photo session and I didn’t calculate that into the time we chose to do the shoot. However it worked out in our favour a little by providing some interesting background light and some nice warm tones.

On the Thanksgiving weekend I had the pleasure of photographing my boyfriend’s family. It was a little challenging having to be in one of the photos myself but everyone managed to look at the camera and smile without my direction so it worked out well. After all the main photos were taken we even had a little fun using props from around the yard and captured some interesting “character” photos.

Chilliwack Fire Department 2012 Calendar
We are slowly getting all the photos taken for the 2012 Chilliwack Fire Department calendar. The new 2012 calendar will be ready for sale in November. We still have a few photo sessions left to go, but I thought I would post a few samples of what has been done so far
Janice & Jeff’s Minter Garden Wedding
I few weeks ago I photographed Janice and Jeff’s wedding at Minter Gardens. Janice is a close cousin to my boyfriend. The wedding was on a Friday afternoon so there was plenty of shade with reasonable temperatures. The reception afterwards was cocktail style which was fun because it promotes more mingling than the traditional reception. We had a great time photographing the formals and there was so many photos that I liked from this wedding it hard to choose which ones to put in the blog

Abbotsford Realtor Photography
A few weeks ago I did my first session of realtor head shots. I was a little nervous at first because these are such important photos. Realtor head shots are a keystone marketing tool. If the realtor looks friendly and approachable it will encourage clients to use their services in a highly competitive market. Rod Friesen was a pleasure to work with, I felt very at ease with him and we ended up having a ton of laughs in our photo session.

Fun Family Photography at Cultus Lake
A few weeks ago I photographed Brad Strukoff and his family at Cultus Lake. A long, long time ago Brad used to be my youth group leader. So long ago, I think the last time I saw Brad’s daughter Stephanie was when she was maybe 4 years old. Now Stephanie is all grown up and almost ready to graduate from high school. It was great to reconnect with the Strukoff family. They wanted some fun casual photos so that is exactly what I tried to do. The family chose to have the photos done at Cultus Lake because that is a place where they have a lot of memories and enjoy using their boat most often. It was perfect timing to capture the whole family before Brad and Barb’s son, Graeme, goes off to university in Alabama.
